Littleton is my home, just like you. I grew up in a military family, and traveled the world. We landed in Littleton where I attended Newton and Euclid Middle Schools and then graduated from Heritage High School. I’m am thankful to be able to call this not-so-little town home. Though I have lived and traveled around the world, I always knew that Littleton was the community where I wanted to live with my husband and three wonderful kids.
After college, my career as a Marketing Communications director grew from working with small business to supporting the needs of Fortune 500 companies. In my spare time I’m well known for volunteering, raising money for local schools, and supporting our community – all while starting and building two small businesses from the ground up. My professional experience in the private sector, and as a small business owner gives me a perspective not many have. I intend to use this insight to help support our thriving small business community.
Your support of my campaign can make all the difference, as I run to represent District 1 on the Littleton City Council. I will bring my professional leadership and skills to continue the Council’s work to keep Littleton a great place to live and raise a family. Littleton is a great community, presenting many opportunities for business owners. I believe it is also a place where our teachers, our first responders, and our grocery store workers can’t afford to live. We need to listen to the many voices representing our community and develop plans for how we can create smart growth and develop affordable housing. We also need to ensure we provide a continuum to the quality of life we all expect.
My plan is to work with community leaders to develop the plans that will continue to evolve and strengthen our community, while managing the financial realities that exist as we emerge from the pandemic. We talk so much about taxes and investing in things, such as tangible things like improving the quality of roads and water. While data-driven decisions are critical, we can never forget the human component from which our community needs are born. A big part of moving towards Littleton’s future is investing in the people. Sometimes we fail to talk about the people at the heart of the many issues we face. YOU are the people our city will work for.
Vote for me, Candice Ferguson, this November to be your representative on City Council, and I promise to work with you and for you to lead Littleton into a bright future where we can all live, work, and THRIVE.
